Face and neck lift (rhytidectomy), or rejuvenation of the face and neck is a surgical procedure that involves reconstruction of the relaxed underlying tissue and redraping of the skin on the patient’s face and neck in order to achieve a youthful appearance.
Rhytidectomy provides the best results in rejuvenation and is often combined with other procedures such as eyebrow lift, eyelid correction, double-chin liposuction, etc.
Candidates for face and neck lift are persons ranging from 40 to 60 years.
The incision is hidden in the hairline and curves in front and behind the ear, and it fades in time.
The surgical procedure lasts around 3 hours in general or local anesthesia. The patient is released home after a few hours or one day, depending on the surgeon’s assessment.
The sutures are removed after 7 days, and the patient returns to its everyday activities after 10 to 14 days.
Botox (botulinum toxin)
Botox (botulinum toxin) is used in a wide range of medicine including ophthalmology and neurology as a relaxation therapy for certain muscles, it is also effective in the elimination of increased sweating syndrome (hyperhidrosis). In aesthetic medicine, Botox is used to remove and prevent the formation of wrinkles on the forehead, around the nose, eyes and on the chin.
The use of botox (purified protein derived from Clostridium botulinum) prevents contractions of the muscles that cause the formation of wrinkles. This method provides excellent results and it is advised to be applied by a professional in order to preserve the natural facial expression.
The treatment lasts 15 – 30 minutes and is performed by injection of botox using a local anesthetic.
The results are visible after 2 – 3 days, and the effect lasts about 8 – 10 months, after which the treatment can be repeated.
Hyaluronic fillers
Hyaluronic fillers are used to rejuvenate the face, neck, and hands, as well as to increase the volume of the lips, and cheeks. By injecting hyaluronic fillers, consisting of hyaluronic acid naturally contained in the body, wrinkles and subcutaneous tissue are filled, and the contour of the face is corrected.
In addition to wrinkle elimination, hyaluronic fillers provide skin hydration and collagen production. This results in an effect of rejuvenated, rested and refreshed face. The treatment lasts about 30 minutes, with the use of local anesthetic.
The effect is maintained for 6 months to a year, after which it can be repeated.
Enhancement with fat (lipofilling)
Enhancement with fat (lipofilling) is a procedure of a micro-transplantation of one’s own fat tissue for the elimination of wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, nose, and face, to rejuvenate the hands, and it also serves to enlarge and enhance the lips, and to increase the volume of the cheeks.
With micro-liposuction technique, the required amount of fat is taken from the inner thighs and after special preparation, is injected into the face as per a prior agreement with the patient.
Within a few weeks after the procedure, up to 30% of the injected fat tissue is absorbed, therefore injections of larger amounts are practiced. There is also a possibility of subsequent correction as needed.
Since this method uses own fat tissue, recovery is fast, the possibility of postoperative complications are minimal, and the treatment results in a stronger, refreshed and long-term rejuvenated skin.
The lipofilling method is recommended for people aged 35-55 years, and for persons with visible recesses and irregularities on the facial skin.
The procedure lasts about 60 minutes under local anesthesia.
The patients return to their everyday activities in around 5 days after the procedure.
3D thread lift
3D thread-lift is a revolutionary rejuvenation technique that uses special biodegradable sutures underneath the skin, creating support for the skin of the face, neck, neckline, stomach and inner thighs and knees.
Within 6 months, the threads dissolve, and as a response to their application, collagen and elastin are directed to the treated area, creating a support to the skin.
The sutures are applied with thin needles or cannulas, the procedure itself is quick and painless and lasts about 30 minutes with a local anesthetic.
The recovery from a thread-lift treatment is easy and most patients can return to their everyday routine immediately.
This method gives excellent results as it stimulates skin strengthening, improves its quality, and the effect of taut and rejuvenated skin is visible up to 24 months.
Thread-lift is recommended for patients in their late thirties to early fifties.
Nose reshaping
Nose surgery (rhinoplasty)
Nose surgery (rhinoplasty) is an intervention that changes the shape and size of the bone and cartilage of the nose, including changes in the subcutaneous tissue, muscles, ligaments and skin.
In addition to functional problems, rhinoplasty also addresses aesthetic defects by correcting the width of the nostrils, the width and the length of the nose, the “hump” on the nose, the lowered or raised nose, the deviation, etc.
The operation lasts 1 – 3 hours and is performed in general or local anesthesia, depending on the complexity of the intervention.
Recovery involves precautions (soft food diet, not wearing sunglasses, avoiding physical activity, etc.) and requires wearing a plastic mask during the first week after surgery.
The patient returns to social life after 10 – 14 days, when it is expected the bruises disappearing under the eyes.
The shape and appearance of the nose changes during the recovery period, therefore, the final results are visible several months after the surgery. Rhinoplasty is intended for patients aged more than 18 years.
Septum surgery (septoplasty)
Septum surgery (septoplasty) is a procedure for correcting, shortening and placing the bone or cartilage that divides the nose into two separate nostrils in the central position. The curvature (deviation) of the nasal septum may cause breathing problems, and septoplasty is often a solution to a functional problem rather than an aesthetic one.
After this intervention, the nose gets an altered shape, therefore it is important to talk with Dr. Rudic about your expectations.
The operation is performed in general or local anesthesia and it lasts from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the complexity.
The recovery lasts for several weeks. It is necessary to take precautions in order to shorten the healing process. It is advised to avoid physical activity, to wear button-front shirts, sleep in an elevated position, etc.
Lip enhancement
Enhancement with hyaluronic fillers
Volume increase and enhancement of lips with hyaluronic fillers is a method that is nowadays most often used because of numerous benefits such as a gradual augmentation of lips during the procedure, volume control and the absence of allergic reactions since it is a substance naturally contained in the body.
Hyaluronic acid is injected with thin needles and the procedure lasts 15 – 30 minutes with the use of local anesthetics.
The effect lasts for 6 months to a year after which the treatment can be repeated.
Hyaluronic acid is also used to rejuvenate the face, neck, and hands, as well as to increase the cheeks.
Enhancement with fat (lipofilling)
Lip augmentation with own fat tissue (lipofilling) is one of the most effective methods for increasing the volume of lips, as this procedure rejuvenates and regenerates the subcutaneous tissue. During the procedure, the shape and size of the lips gradually change, thus achieving a natural appearance.
Using a micro-liposuction technique, the required amount of fat from the inner thighs is taken and after special preparation, it is injected into the lips with thin needles.
Since up to 30% of injected fat tissue dissolves over time, injections of larger amounts are practiced and there is a possibility of subsequent correction as needed. This method is also used to rejuvenate the face and enlarge the volume of cheeks.
The procedure lasts about 60 minutes, and the effects are visible for about 5 years.
Cheek enhancement
Enlargement with hyaluronic fillers
Cheek augmentation with hyaluronic fillers is a method that uses hyaluronic acid injected with thin needles into the cheeks and thus increases not only the volume of the cheeks but also the elasticity and skin tension. Hyaluronic acid is naturally contained in the body and therefore allergic reactions are not possible.
The procedure lasts 15-30 minutes with the application of local anesthetic, and the patient can follow the entire process of cheeks correction in the mirror.
The effect is visible immediately and lasts for 6 months to a year, after which the process can be repeated.
Hyaluronic acid is also used to rejuvenate the face, neck, and hands as well as for lip augmentation.
Enlargement with fat (lipofilling)
Cheek augmentation with one’s own fat tissue (lipofilling) is a very effective method, which, in addition to correction, stimulates regeneration of the subcutaneous tissue. This procedure can correct the facial asymmetry and irregularities on the skin and the effect is a longterm rejuvenated and refreshed face.
Using the micro-liposuction technique, a slightly bigger amount of fat tissue from the inner thighs is taken, as up to 30% of the injected fat tissue dissolves in the first weeks after the treatment.
After special preparation, the fat tissue is injected into the cheeks by thin needles, gradually increasing their volume.
This method is also used for face rejuvenation and lip enhancement.
The process lasts for about 60 minutes, and the effects are visible up to 5 years.
Forehead and eyebrow lift
Forehead and eyebrow lift are surgical procedures that can be performed separately or in combination with eyelid correction or face lift. The goal of these operations is to eliminate the wrinkles from the forehead and achieving the effect of rested and refreshed eyes.
Forehead lift can be performed in a classic way, where the cut is made at the hairline, or endoscopic, which uses several small cuts in the hairy part of the head.
Advantages of the endoscopic method, which is also used for eyebrow lift, are faster recovery and invisible scar.
The treatments last up to 60 minutes with local or general anesthesia.
The patient returns to its daily routine after 10-14 days, and during this period, it is advised avoiding physical activities.
Eyelid correction (blepharoplasty)
Eyelid correction (blepharoplasty) is a surgical method that eliminates the effect of “tired eyes” by removing excess skin from the upper eyelids and pads from the lower eyelids. Most often this intervention is done for aesthetic reasons, but it can also improve the vision when the upper eyelids cause the problem.
Blepharoplasty is performed in local anesthesia and lasts from 30 to 120 min depending on whether surgery includes both upper and lower eyelids.
After the intervention, the incision remains hidden in the natural curve of the eyelids.
The sutures are removed after 3 – 6 days and the recovery lasts 7 – 14 days, and during this period it is recommended to wear sunglasses.
The effect is a refreshed and rejuvenated face. With some patients, repeating the procedure might be needed after a few years.
Ear correction (otoplasty)
Ear correction (otoplasty) is a surgical procedure that corrects the position, shape, and size of the ears. Since asymmetric and prominent ears can cause emotional difficulties, otoplasty is often done at an early age, starting from the age of 5.
The operation lasts for 1 – 2 hours and is performed in local or general anesthesia.
The incision is in a natural curve on the back of the ears and is almost invisible.
The recovery is brief, but it is necessary to wear an elastic strap for several weeks after surgery.
Chin correction (mentoplasty)
Chin correction (mentoplasty) is a surgical procedure that changes the shape and size of the chin. The overaccentuated chin is decreased by removing a bone part, and the receding chin is enlarged by silicone insertion or by the transplantation of one’s own bone or cartilage.
Having in mind that both chin and the shape of the nose define one’s face profile, it is often the case that chin correction and nose reshaping are combined in order to reach an overall appealing appearance. The operation is performed in local anesthesia and lasts about 30 minutes.
The incision is on the inside of the lower lip and is not visible from the outside.
The patient returns to regular activities within 3 – 5 days.
Chemical peel
Chemical peel is an effective procedure that removes the damaged skin of the face, neck, neckline, hand, and feet in order to remove wrinkles, acne scars, dark spots, stretch marks, and skin damage caused by sunbathing. Depending on skin damage, surface, medium or deep chemical peeling can be done.
The procedure lasts about 20 minutes, and sometimes it is necessary to do more treatments for achieving optimal results.
The interval between the two treatments is 2 – 3 weeks.
Recovery after treatment lasts about 5 days, after which the patient returns to everyday routine.
After a chemical peel treatment, the skin is smoother, brighter and rejuvenated.
